A Cultural Worldview

In Baptist and Church of God in Christ churches there are a plethora of stereotypes being preached about and not enough gospel about “Sodomiting” (referencing The City of Sodom in The Bible). The bible says how the city was destroyed for haughtiness, egoism, and rape.

• Ethical relativism emphasizes the importance of understanding the cultural context in which the problematic conduct is being judged.[1] It is important to elicit the interpretations and to understand problematic cases from the cultural insiders’ viewpoint.[2]

Furthermore, Sodom and Gomorrah have been used historically and in modern discourses as metaphors for homosexuality[3], and are the origin of the English word sodomite, a pejorative term for male homosexuals, and sodomy, which is used in a legal content under the label “crimes against nature”[4] to describe anal or oral sex (particularly homosexual) and bestiality.[5]
Understanding that homosexuality originated from corrupted men in the city of Sodom could help with redirecting a positive outlook on homo sapiens. Not every Caucasian is racist. Nor is every heterosexual person promiscuous. So, why must every homosexual person be compared to homo sapiens that chose violent? This is important for transformational psychology. As cultural beings, we are socialized by the values and norms of our culture to think and be- have in certain ways and to evaluate right from wrong actions.[6]
Churches and Christian organizations can partner together to communicate the gospel more effectively to all nations by understanding it takes a team to build a dream. Being an International Media Proprietor requires a copious amount of applied knowledge. This includes having cultural intelligence. With that said, CCsquaredtm (Cornels Corner) will continue to partner with a diverse group of cultures to fulfill The Great Commission to stop sex trafficking and differentiate “sodomite” and “homosexuality”.
